Clearly one of the most beautiful and well-known beaches of eastern Pelion is the beach of Agios Sarandas, whose name was taken from a chapel in the area. In short, a pristine beach with blue-green waters, (characteristic of all the beaches in the area) with fine sand and pebbles. In addition, it is known for the characteristic pointed rock (calogero) that projects on the southern edge of the coast through the water and for the isolation offered by the idea of the hard-to-reach but also unexploited coast. Nevertheless, the access is neither relatively difficult nor the comforts will be lacking for the bathers.
Access is possible by asphalt road from Makryrachi 3-4 km and also from Horefto 2-3 km. Beach Bars with music and quiet taverns are also available to visitors.
During the summer months, specifically in mid-June, but also for the whole of August, Agios Saranda beach is literally flooded with traffic, therefore the lack of parking spaces makes the place suffocate with cars. Therefore, those who wish to visit it during this period, it would be wise to start in the morning.
Therefore, Agioi Saranda is the ideal place for lovers of tranquility and peace. At the same time, a short distance away, Agios Ioannis offers you alternative entertainment with cafes and bars as well as the possibility to rent water bikes, canoes, boats, etc.
